Introduction
Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a diligent individual with knowledge and experience in an FMCG printing environment to take on the role of a Sewing Machine Operator in the Bindery Department. The successful candidate will report to the Production Co-ordinator.
Job description
- Read work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions
- Operate the sewing machine following the correct standard operating procedures
- Record work actions on QTMS
- Label(tag) full pallets using the standard control sheet stating title, job number, quantity of job and the amount on a pack.
- Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and/or adjustments
- Maintain daily production records
- Basic preventative operator maintenance
- Maintain general health and safety standards in the production environment
- Adhoc general assistance on all machines
Minimum requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
- 2-3 years working as a sewing machine operator or similar will be advantageous
- 1 to 2 years experience within a warehouse environment
- Previous experience within a FMCG environment
