Who Are We Looking For We have a full-time vacancy for a SQL / Qlik Cloud Specialist with at least 5–8 years’ experience with the implementation of BI solutions for business problems through the design and development of ETL, databases and reports using SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS, with strong Qlik Cloud (Qlik Sense SaaS) capability for dashboard development, data modelling and self-service analytics. The successful candidate will maintain and build BI reporting solutions, develop data models and visualisations, and play an active role in advanced data analytics and proactive insights for the business and customers. The successful candidate will report to the BI Manager and will be stationed at our office in Montague Gardens (Cape Town).

Job description

Key Responsibilities

· Design, develop, maintain and enhance SQL applications, ETL processes, databases and reports.

· Develop and maintain Qlik Cloud dashboards, data models and self-service analytics applications for internal stakeholders and external customers.

· Perform data analysis by writing relational and multidimensional database queries.

· Support other BI applications through the provision of accurate and timely data.

· Analyse and manage BI data sources.

· Perform root cause analyses, fixing bugs where required.

· Respond to business requests for data and reporting.

· Assist with requirements gathering, creating technical specification documentation and development of new requirements. This includes implementing advanced insights models for business and customers using advanced analytical techniques.

· Ensure compliance with data governance standards including data integrity, completeness and POPIA compliance.

· Actively assisting in the testing of new solutions.

· Technical knowledge sharing to the rest of the team.

· Actively explore AI solutions to create meaningful insights into our data for both internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum requirements

· At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.

· At least 5–8 years’ IT work experience in programming and/or systems analysis, including T-SQL, MS SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS.

· At least 4–6 years’ hands-on experience with Qlik Sense or Qlik Cloud (SaaS), including dashboard development, data load scripting, data modelling and set analysis.

· Knowledgeable in SQL and ETL programming languages.

· At least 4–6 years’ experience in data warehousing and advanced data analytics, including dimensionally modelled warehouses.

· Solid knowledge and experience with technology and application development methodologies.

· Experience with Qlik NPrinting or Qlik Application Automation would be advantageous.

· Knowledge of Big Data tools and skills on Cloud platforms like Azure would be advantageous, but not critical.

· A reasonable understanding of networking and server infrastructure will be advantageous.

· This position will require occasional long and irregular hours which will be compensated for time off in lieu of overtime worked.
